The Fund for the Elimination of the Consequences of Armed Aggression has allocated 62.3 billion hryvnias (approximately US$1.7 billion) to various recovery programs, including nearly 1.7 billion hryvnias (approximately US$46.7 million) to Sumy Oblast and 673 million hryvnias (approximately US$18.5 million) to Chernihiv Oblast.

Source: Ukraine’s Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal during a meeting of the Presidium of the Congress of Local Administrations dedicated to Sumy and Chernihiv oblasts.

Details: Shmyhal said that the common priorities of the central government, regions and communities are to complete winterization, start and successfully complete the heating season, restore and ensure the social component.

The representatives of Oblast Military Administrations said they were for the most part prepared for the heating season: 99.5% in Chernihiv Oblast and 99.1% in Sumy Oblast.

Additional invincibility centres are being set up across the oblasts: 330 in Chernihiv Oblast and 541 in Sumy Oblast. (Invincibility centres are warm-up points that offer Internet access and hot tea and coffee; thousands of such centres have been set up all over Ukraine-controlled territory in winter 2022-23 as Russia targeted Ukraine’s energy infrastructure – ed.)
