Ukrainian military destroys over 10,000 Russian artillery systems since January
Since the start of 2024, Ukraine’s military has taken out 10,373 Russian artillery systems, with losses estimated at $8 billion, significantly crippling Russia’s artillery brigades.
Starting from the beginning of 2024 to 1 October, Ukraine’s Armed Forces destroyed 10,373 artillery systems of the Russian army worth nearly least $8 billion, the Ministry of Defense has reported.
The agency noted that one artillery division consists of 18 artillery units and an artillery brigade includes 72 artillery systems.
Thus, over the past nine months, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have destroyed nearly 144 enemy artillery brigades.
According to the General Staff, the Russian army lost the most equipment on 22 September, when Ukrainian defenders destroyed 81 enemy artillery systems.
The Defense Ministry based its estimates of the destroyed artillery’s value on information from open sources and average global market prices for weapons and military equipment.
“The aggressor could have built 13 modern sports arenas or 18 healthcare facilities equipped with the best examples of medical and diagnostic equipment for $8 billion,” claimed Ukraine’s agency.
On 14 October alone, Ukrainian soldiers destroyed 13 Russian tanks, 44 armored fighting vehicles, nine artillery systems, ten operational-tactical drones, 32 vehicles, and four pieces of special equipment.
