Ukrainian pilot, participant of fierce battles, killed in action – Ukrainian Air Force

A Ukrainian pilot from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of Ukraine's Air Force was killed in action during a sortie on Saturday.

Quote: "Today, a young Ukrainian airman, a pilot from the 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade of the Air Force, who was fighting the invaders in the fiercest spots of the war zone, did not return from a combat mission.

The Air Force's tactical aircraft pilots are operating at the peak of their abilities, utilising all available foreign-made weapons. The pilots carry out strikes under active enemy counteraction, constantly entering enemy air defence zones and enduring high overloads during dangerous missions to accomplish their tasks efficiently."

Details: The Command has not disclosed the name or place of the pilot's death.

Earlier on Saturday, Russian-installed authorities in the occupied part of Kherson Oblast claimed that Russian forces had shot down a Ukrainian warplane north of Kherson.

The 299th Tactical Aviation Brigade is equipped with Su-25 ground attack aircraft of various modifications.
