Ukrainian spy chief's wife was poisoned with arsenic and mercury

Marianna Budanova, the wife of Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Ukraine’s Defence Intelligence, was poisoned with arsenic and mercury.

Details: Earlier, Ukrainska Pravda sources reported that Budanov's wife was poisoned with heavy metals which were most likely added to her food.

Background: 

• Ukrainska Pravda sources reported on the morning of 28 November that Marianna Budanova, the wife of Kyrylo Budanov, Head of Ukrainian Defence Intelligence, had been poisoned. She survived and has undergone the first stage of treatment.
• Defence Intelligence subsequently confirmed the poisoning.
