Details: The American diplomat was answering a question about the "peace plan" that Zelenskyy is to present to Joe Biden by the end of September.
"We have seen President Zelensky's peace plan. We believe that it lays out a strategy and a plan that can work. And we need to understand how we can contribute to that by working with all the presidents who will be here in New York," she added.
The US ambassador added that "we have hope to make some progress" on the issue of peace, without specifying what exactly she meant.
By saying "peace plan" Thomas-Greenfield was presumably referring to what the Ukrainian side labelled a "victory plan", which Zelenskyy announced last month.
Later, the Ukrainian leader said that the plan contained four points on strengthening military support for Ukraine "plus another one that we need after the war".
Earlier, Ukraine's Foreign Ministry denied the Bild’s report that Zelenskyy's "victory plan" supposedly envisaged a freeze of the hostilities.
