President Biden, fresh from his trip to Angola, is participating in his final White House Christmas tree lighting ceremony Thursday evening, with less than two months left in office.
The ceremony, marking the 102nd lighting of the National Christmas Tree, will be hosted by Mickey Guyton and feature performances from artists such as Trisha Yearwood, Stephen Sanchez and James Taylor, among others, according to the event website.
This year's tree is a 35-foot-tall red spruce from the George Washington and Jefferson National Forests in Virginia, per the National Park Service. Vice President Harris is also expected to be in attendance.
The event also comes as Biden faces backlash for the recent pardoning of his son Hunter Biden.
The ceremony from the Ellipse is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. EST.
