Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (D) is in North Carolina on Thursday, rallying voters in the crucial swing state as the election gets closer.
The event comes as early voting kicked off in the state last week, with more than 1 million voters casting an early ballot in the first few days.
The hope among Democrats is that an early-vote advantage could bolster Vice President Harris, Walz's running mate, against the traditional GOP edge among Election Day voters.
The Hill/Decision Desk HQ's aggregate of polls shows former President Trump with a narrow lead over Harris in the Tar Heel State — with 49.1 percent support to her 47.6 percent.
Walz also held an event in Greenville, N.C., earlier in the day.
The rally in Wilmington, N.C., is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m. EDT.
