Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in Saudi Arabia on 27 February for talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

In a Telegram post, Zelenskyy expressed his intent to discuss Ukraine’s peace formula and the return of Ukrainian prisoners and deported civilians from Russia.

The president emphasized that the primary focus of the visit would be Ukraine’s peace formula, following a productive meeting in Jeddah last year on its implementation.

“We are now very close to holding the first Peace Summit and count on the continued active support of Saudi Arabia,” Zelenskyy said.

The talks will also explore potential areas for economic cooperation and Saudi Arabia’s involvement in reconstructing Ukraine.

“We will also discuss promising areas of economic cooperation and the participation of Saudi Arabia in the reconstruction of Ukraine,” Zelenskyy added.
