Details: Speaking about Ukraine's Victory Plan, Zelenskyy stated that he saw an opportunity in the coming months to pave the way for ending the war.
"We've got a chance to move forward with peace and long-term stability in October, November, and December. The situation on the battlefield creates an opportunity to make this choice – the choice of decisive actions that will end the war no later than 2025," he stressed.
"We are counting on [US] President [Joe] Biden's leadership, and we are relying on the strong and wise steps from the UK, France, Germany and Italy to bring peace and security to Europe. And we are counting on all of you," Zelenskyy added.
Prior to that, he emphasised that inviting Ukraine to join NATO was the first element of his Victory Plan, as it was the only way to establish geopolitical certainty in Europe and compel Russia to acknowledge the existence of an unconquered Ukraine.
Background: During his visit to Croatia, Zelenskyy and Plenković signed a cooperation and support agreement. This arrangement mirrors the security agreements Ukraine has concluded with 26 countries in the wake of the Group of Seven declaration, although it has not yet been categorised as one of these agreements.
