Details: Starmer met with Zelenskyy in his residence at Downing Street, after which they will hold talks.
In London, Zelenskyy will also meet with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
This is Zelenskyy's second visit to Downing Street since Starmer was elected Prime Minister. In July, the Ukrainian president became the first foreign leader to be hosted in London after the change of government.
Starmer also met with Zelenskyy at the NATO summit in July.
In addition, on Thursday, the Ukrainian president is to visit Paris, where he will meet his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace.
Background:
- Sources report that Zelenskyy was expected to visit Berlin on Friday, where he would hold talks with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and President Frank-Walter Steinmeier.
- The visit to Berlin became known after the Ramstein meeting (otherwise known as Ukraine Defence Contact Group) on 12 October was cancelled due to a change in US President Joe Biden's plans. It is not yet known whether the meeting at the level of leaders will take place in the future, as was planned initially.
