Ukraine needs more air defence systems as Russia continues to inflict deadly strikes on peaceful settlements daily. In March alone, the Russians struck Ukraine with over 4,000 munitions, including guided air bombs, missiles, and Shahed drones.

Quote from Zelenskyy: "Just this March, Russian terrorists have deployed over 400 missiles of various types, over 600 Shahed drones, and over 3,000 guided air bombs against Ukraine. Various cities and villages of Ukraine are suffering from this terror, and Russia is striking particularly harshly on the frontline territories and border hromadas." [A hromada is an administrative unit designating a town, village or several villages and their adjacent territories – ed.]

Details: Zelenskyy noted that Kharkiv, which has been under missile and drone attacks since the first day of war, is suffering particularly harshly. And now, the Russians have started dropping air bombs on this city of over a million people.

"This is daily abuse and pain, daily losses in the city. Critical infrastructure is being destroyed, and ordinary residential buildings are ruined every day. None of this will happen when Ukraine receives reliable air defence systems, which can save the lives of our people and restore security to our cities," emphasised Zelenskyy.

He stressed that Patriots systems in the hands of Ukrainians have proven that all forms of Russian terror can be defeated.

"And this is necessary – necessary for our Kharkiv and all other cities and hromadas whose lives are currently under Russian attack," summed up the president.
